Specialized network services for the designs vendors push back on.
Point-to-point, L2VPN, IPv4 leasing, custom cross-connects and dark fiber consultation — built around your topology, not a product catalog.
- P2P · L2VPN · custom cross-connects
- IPv4 leasing · reverse DNS delegated
- dark fiber · vendor-agnostic advisory
- AS54098 · custom routing policy
Specialized Network Services, in plain terms.
This is the bucket for the work that does not fit the menu. Point-to-point circuits between sites. Layer 2 VPNs that carry your VLANs across cities without NAT or re-addressing. Custom cross-connects at the MMR, including the awkward ones that need a patch your colo does not advertise. We run AS54098 ourselves, so we can build a circuit that is actually a circuit rather than a tunnel pretending to be one.
IPv4 address leasing for teams who need clean space without buying a /24 on the open market — assigned with documented justification, reverse DNS delegated, and routed wherever you terminate. Dark fiber consultation for the projects where the right answer is your own glass between buildings or cages, and you want someone to vet the carrier paths before you sign.
Custom routing policy where standard BGP communities are not enough — selective announcement, traffic engineering between upstreams, conditional advertisement during maintenance. Tell us the constraint and we will design the path.
Common triggers for this engagement.
- 01You need a layer 2 path between sites that preserves your VLANs
- 02You need to lease clean IPv4 space without buying a block outright
- 03You are evaluating dark fiber and want someone honest in the room
- 04Your design is unusual enough that retail providers keep saying no
Questions teams ask before signing.
What counts as 'specialized' here?
Anything that does not fit a tier on the price sheet. Common requests: point-to-point between two colos, L2VPN spanning a metro, leased /24s with reverse DNS, custom cross-connect coordination, dark fiber due diligence, and BGP policy that needs more than the default communities.
Do you lease IPv4 address space?
Yes, with documented justification and reverse DNS delegated to your nameservers. We will not lease space we cannot route cleanly — if it is on a deny-list somewhere, you will hear that before you sign.
Can you help us evaluate dark fiber options?
Yes. We are vendor-agnostic for dark fiber — we will read the carrier proposals, check the route diversity claims, and tell you where the real risk sits. If you want us to operate the resulting span we can, but the advisory work stands on its own.
Where is your on-net footprint?
Anchored at the major mid-Atlantic carrier-neutral facilities, with reach into Northeast and Southeast metros via our upstream and peering relationships. Tell us the building and we will tell you straight whether the path is on-net, near-net, or a project to enable.
Frequently scoped alongside this work.
IP Transit (BGP)
Full BGP transit on AS54098 with direct peering at Hurricane Electric and transit through GTT into the rest of the Tier-1 fabric. Bring your own ASN and prefixes — we handle the policy and the on-call.
Direct Internet Access (DIA)
Dedicated internet handoff with a clean SLA and an engineer who actually reads it. Ports sized to the work, not to the marketing tier.
Network Architecture and Engineering
Design, review, and hands-on implementation. The same engineers writing the design are the ones who pick up the phone when a route flaps.
Data Center Colocation
Carrier-neutral colocation with the network already terminated. Tier III facilities, HIPAA-ready environments, and an engineer to point at the cage.
